Tonic Note

Grief circles back like an old song,
A tonic note I can’t outgrow;
Each silence shaped by where you’re gone
Grief circles back like an old song.
I hum your name to carry on
Through rooms only the echo knows;
Grief circles back like an old song,
A tonic note I can’t outgrow.
